WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A SAUNA WARRANTY
Heaters: Without question, you should—and will—find a warranty on the infrared sauna’s heaters. If you don't, then simply don't buy it, regardless of what they tell you. One year warranties are the industry standard for the heaters, and you should be wary of any company that falls below that standard. Also, any electrical mechanical part will eventually wear out over a long enough period of time. However, many warranties will only cover workmanship and manufacturing defects. Controls: Just as important as the heaters a warranty should cover the control system and electronics for a period of a year. Problems in this area will typically manifest themselves within the first month of operation. Be sure the control warranty is comprehensive, this is an especially important and vulnerable part of the infrared sauna.
Construction: If the wood used in the infrared sauna’s construction has not been properly kiln dried or is of low quality, it can warp or buckle in just weeks, even without use. You may also find that under regular use, the adhesives used in the construction process may begin to fail. This may be enhanced when veneers and plywood are used in the construction process. One may wonder why anyone would then use such materials. The answer is simple, it cuts costs. This construction practice is still prevalent in most sauna manufacturing plants, where the bottom line trumps all else. This is why you should be sure the warranty covers the cabinet for at least one year to prevent unforeseen warping or defects. After one year, you can usually be reasonably assured that you won't encounter any problems with the construction.
FINE PRINT DETAILS
Be certain to read the fine print details of your potential warranty. For some companies, “Limited Warranty” means not getting any water or moisture inside the unit, among other simple things that will almost inevitably nullify the warranty. Agents, for instance, always have the option of switching to new manufacturers, and it's important to know what will happen if that occurs.
