Losing Weight With an Infrared Sauna? - Maybe
To make a long story short, I've lost a few pounds since I started using the sauna. I don't consider this to be proof that it works, certainly not for everyone, but I'm going to keep it up and see what happens.
At the start, I gained more than three pounds in the first 8 days. This left me surprised and discouraged. However, I was determined to give this a fair chance.
I was very diligent about getting consistent time in the sauna. I took a sauna every day, and twice a day on weekends, for about three months. The only exception was when the power outages. That's about 12-15 pounds of sweat per week.
Sounds great, but the results, if any, are really minimal. On the other hand, the overall trend for my weight is down, very slightly, where for most of my life it has up, very slowly.
So, I will continue, and let you know how things work out. If you would like to share your own experiences with sauna, we would love to hear it.
